Edith Laverne Boren

Mrs. Boren, 92 of Jackson passed away at her home on Sunday October 30, 2016. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday November 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at Browns United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Callicoat, and Rev. Steven Douglas officiating, burial will follow in Browns Church Cemetery.

Edith was born to the late Ernie D. and Annie Brechears Tidwell on February 7, 1924 in Union City, TN. She was a loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a special gift with children, and loved all as if they were her own. She was a faithful member of Browns United Methodist Church.

Other than her parents Mrs. Boren was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Sidney Boren, 3 sisters; Betty Holzgen, Juanita Rhodes, Thelma Daniel and 1 brother Ernest Gene Tidwell.

She is survived by her children; Ernie Boren (Janice) of Jackson, Annie L. Pierce (Richard) of Murfreesboro, TN, Larry Boren (Barbara) of Jackson, Robert Boren (Judy) of Jackson, Susan Gill of Lexington, KY, 2 sisters; Mary Davidson, Martha Whitehead, 1 brother; David Tidwell, 6 grandchildren; Michelle Oswalt (Johnny), Trent Boren (Paige), Scott Pierce, Nicholas Pierce (Rochelle), Leigh Ann Gill, and Angie Dunn. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; Devin Oswalt, Christian Webb, Madyson Webb, Leona Pierce, Jack Pierce, Gideon Pierce and Dylan Oswalt.

The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons on Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Youth group at Browns United Methodist Church
