Dortha was a homemaker, devoted Pastor’s wife and a loving mother. She joyfully served the Lord by faithfully following her husband through several pastorates and 13 years of District Ministry with the Tennessee Assemblies of God and while he was the voice out front, she was the strong and silent support. She enjoyed singing with her husband, singing in the church choir and loving and caring for those in need. One of her greatest joys was teaching the children’s classes and working in the baby nursey. One of her strongest attributes was when her minister husband would bring people home unannounced there was always room at the dining table for them. Although she will be missed, she longed to go home to Heaven to see Jesus and her loving Joe Dee.
To honor Dortha’s wishes, her Funeral Service will be a graveside service on Tuesday, November 30, at 2 pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, Tennessee.
Due to Dortha’s love of children and her passion for missions, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge (BGMC) in care of the Arkansas Assemblies of God, 10924 I-30, Little Rock, AR 72209.
