It is with great sadness that the family of Diann Elizabeth Spaeth announces her sudden passing on Thursday, September 28th at the age of 68. Diann will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Karissa (Michael) Schemer of Medina, Tenn., and her son Chris (Jill) Tumey of Arkansas. She leaves behind 6 cherished grandchildren who called her Mimi.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Carmond Plunk, formerly of Henderson, Tenn.
She leaves behind two sisters and a brother, Lisa Stewart of Moulton, Ala; Michael (Gail) Plunk of Trenton, Tenn; and Tracy (Thomas)Simmons of Shelbyville, Tenn. She delighted in her three nieces and two nephews.
Diann joined the US Army in 1969 and retired after 16 years of service from the Tennessee National Guard as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer with a rank of E7. She attended Northeast Texas Community College and then worked as a Regional Manager of a cable television company for many years in the Franklin, TN area before moving back to West Tennessee to be closer to her parents.
A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd at 1 pm in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, 2812 North Highland, Jackson, TN with Rev. Mary Beth Bernheisel officiating the service. Interment will follow in the family plot at Oak Grove Cemetery in Henderson, TN.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, October 1st from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the North Chapel.
