He was born on January 16, 1933 in Lexington, TN to the late Roy Franklin Wallace and Excel Rhodes Wallace. He was educated in Henderson County Schools. He married Permelia (Pam) Franklin on February 15, 1952 and they have been married 64 years.
He leaves behind his wife, Pam, his daughter Linda Lodes (Jack), his son, Randy Wallace (Karen), 4 grandchildren Casey (Kimmer); Cliff (Whitney) and Crissy Lodes and Whitney Wallace; and 2 great grandsons, Whitten & Wryland Lodes. He is also survived by his Sister Beth Franklin (James). In addition he is also survived by his step granddaughter, Shelley Jelinek, her husband Martin and children Samantha & Jarod.
He loved fishing and spending time at his cabin at the river and reading. He was in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War where he received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. He was retired from Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent after 35 years where he traveled all over the United States. He also owned the Jackson Florist for 8 years.
Funeral services for Mr. Wallace will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 3 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with interment to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family respectfully asks that only direct family members attend the interment. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
