C.L. was born April 20, 1937 to Roy C. and Mary E. Allen Byrum. He was a diesel mechanic by trade, retiring from Volunteer International after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances New Byrum; two sons, Carrol E. Byrum and Billy R. Byrum; grandsons, C.J. Byrum, Cody Byrum, and Austin Byrum; great grandson, Zachary Vining; sisters, Cornelius Glenn, Hazel Byrum, Lela Robinson, Mary Merryman, and Dorothy Rhodes.
He is survived by his three sons, John C. Byrum (Connie), Curtis G. Byrum (Lori), and Charles D. Byrum; grandchildren, John A. Byrum, Christy Davis (Brad), Holly Link, Lucas Byrum (Kaley), Trish Brett (Nate), Emily Hill (Andrew), Layla Langley (Matt); seventeen great grandchildren; sisters, Laura Wheatley and Billie Johnson; and brothers, Jimmy A. Byrum (Linda), Roy F. Byrum, and Terry Byrum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Brad Davis. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
