Following a stay at Vanderbilt ICU, Brandon came home with hospice care in January 2022. He wanted to spend his remaining time in the comfort and care of his family, friends, canine friends( Little Dog & Dixie),and a couple of very special nurses. He was given 6 months life expectancy, he fought just over a year. What a warrior!
Brandon was born March 26,1995 in Columbia, TN. He grew up in Pinson, TN close to family and friends in Jackson and Pinson. He attended school, K through 12th grade, at Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson and graduated in 2013. Brandon graduated in 2019 with honors from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, with a B.S. in Psychology. His determination to live on campus and be independent at such a distance from family, is one example of the strong will and courage he had every moment of every day of his life.
Brandon enjoyed playing video games and spent many hours with gaming friends across the country.
On his 27th birthday, a huge party was provided by his TCA friends and Brandon was able to reconnect with many of his high school friends and family members he had not seen in a while. The love and support he received was overwhelming
This past year Brandon was also able to experience his love of animals and nature up close. He traveled with his dad to the Chattanooga Aquarium and the Great Smoky Mountains. He also visited the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park with his mom, brother, and Little Dog. That trip was made possible by his many friends and family. Thanks again to you all.
Brandon is survived by his dad, Bob Mayo Jr. (Teresa); mom, Lisa Crawley Mayo; brother, Evan Mayo; grandfather, Robert Crawley; uncles and aunts, Debby Long (Alan), Robin Phillips (Kevin), James Mayo (Liz), Cathy Miles, and David Mayo (Angela); and 15 cousins
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Bobby and Ann Mayo, and Edna Faye Crawley; and his aunt Teresa Crawley.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
