Bobbie Lou Winston Clarke

Bobbie was born on October 26, 1934, in Parsons, Tennessee.  She graduated from Parsons High School and then Lambuth College in 1957. She was a beloved elementary teacher and librarian for over forty years in Tennessee and Kentucky…. known to many as ‘Ms. Bobbie’.   Bobbie was a devoted Christian and active in several Methodist churches where her husband was minister. Bobbie loved working with youth and teaching Sunday school classes.

Her greatest joys in life were shared with her husband, son, grandchildren, family members, former students, and friends! Bobbie will be missed by all who knew her. 

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Dr. John B. Clarke, her parents, Robert Lamar Winston and Golden Mae Winston and brother Billy Winston.

She is survived by her son, John Timothy Clarke and grandchildren Adam Clarke, Andrew Clarke (Mary Margaret), and Olivia Clarke.

Visitation and a graveside service will be directed by George A Smith & Sons Funeral home on Wednesday, August 3rd from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm. A graveside service will be at Highland Memorial Gardens following visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Comperry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Forest Heights Methodist Church.
