She was born on November 9, 1927 in Gibson County, Tennessee to the late Luther Curtis and Lillie Ann Luckey Fly. She was a professional secretary and worked at the JC Edenton Company in Jackson before becoming a homemaker. After her son was grown she returned to work as an insurance agent at the Harlan Insurance Agency in Jackson. She loved reading and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson and loved her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Turner Sr., four brothers and a sister: Tom Fly, Robert Fly, Joe Fly, Emily Fly and Jimmy Fly.
She is survived by her son, Sam Dee Turner, Jr, and his wife Paula, her grandchildren: Andrew Turner and his wife Andrea, Carla Casey and Angie Frazier, great grandchildren Jessica Stamper and husband Tyler, Zach Casey and wife Kelsea, Austin Mayo and Hannah Mayo. Great, great grandchildren include Blakely, Brynlee and Brooks Stamper. She also leaves two sisters: Mary Kolwyck and her husband, Bob and Nancy Murdock.
Graveside services for Mrs. Turner will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Antioch Cemetery near Three Way. Bro. Dan Bruce of Jackson First Baptist Church will officiate the service.
