Born in Olga Township, North Dakota to Archie and Victoria Gosselin, Rose spent her early childhood years in North Dakota. When she was a teenager, she accompanied her older sister, to Mississippi. It was there that she met the love of her life, Billy Stevens. They later married and had three children. Rose was a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother.
Rose enjoyed quilting, sewing, and embroidery. She loved to fish and travel to other states to visit her siblings. In her later years, she relocated to Brookhaven, MS. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. As our mother and grandmother, Rose was a beautiful, kind and compassionate lady. She was also known to be feisty. We will forever cherish the memories we have with her as well as the many beautiful quilts she made with her loving hands.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence and Donald Gosselin, and sister, Alma Bratton.
Rose is survived by her son Robby Stevens (Sharron) of Clinton; daughters Lisa Smith (Tee) of Wesson, MS, and Dawn Walker (Duke) of Wesson, MS; grandchildren, Corey and Casey Stevens (Chesney), Tori and Troy Smith, Max and Meegan Chandler, Peyton and Lexie Walker, Sarah Prevost, Cameron, Kristen and Kaitlan Burkhalter, Sterling, Shelby, Duke, and Yancey Walker; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Ricky, Larry, and Rene Gosselin (Kathy); sisters Jean Hanson and Diane Wodarczak; devoted niece and caregiver until the very end, Barbara Boone Clark; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of King’s Daughters Medical Center for their compassionate care of our mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
