Ronald Alton Thornton

Ronald was a dedicated pharmacist for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time outdoors and tending to his yard and garden. As a younger man he was an active member of the Boy Scouts, achieving Eagle Scout rank.

He is survived by his wife, Portia Henderson Thornton; daughter, Kelly Rochelle Wood; son, Stephen Bradford Thornton; and grandchildren, Maya Rochelle Wood and Seth Alton Wood.

Ronald was preceded in death by his son, Jason Chapman Thornton; parents, R.A. Thornton and Rosa Lee McGinty Thornton; and sister, Audrey Glen Thornton Griffin.

A visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209. Following the visitation will be a pavilion service at 12:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park.
