Robert L. Perry, Jr., 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, April 15 from 10:30 to 12 noon with a graveside service to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Perry was born on June 15, 1938 in Grenada, MS. He served in the MS Army Air National Guard and for many years he was truck driver for Sara Lee and Jitney Jungle. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball. He was fortunate enough to be able to help coach his son, Trey, from the time he started playing baseball up until his high school career. Later, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play the game that he loved so dearly.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Lee Perry, IV; parents, Robert Lee Perry, Sr. and Ruby Grace Perry; siblings, Jerry Perry and Betty Haile; and mother-in-law, Mary Reynolds.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teresa Reynolds Perry; son, Robert Lee “Trey” Perry, III (Therasa) of Hendersonville, TN and their children, Jackson Lee Perry and Harlen Trey Perry; nephew, Michael Bankston (Alexis) and their children, CeCi, Michaela and Alexandra. He is also survived by his canine companion, Sweet Pea and many other extended family and friends.
