A native a North Dakota, Dr. Hamernik grew up in Vicksburg, MS. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1964. A beloved anesthesiologist, he was affiliated with Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
A longtime member of the Country Club of Jackson, he enjoyed golf and spending time with his family at the club for Sunday lunch.
Dr. Hamernik was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lydia Hamernik.
He is survived by his wife Ann Prestyne Hamernik: stepdaughters, Kim Waller (Scott) of Madison, Miss.; and Kelly LeMay of Bartlett, Tenn.
A pavilion service for Bob will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, Mississippi 39209.
