Michael R. Kilian died June 13, 2017, at his home. The son of the late Vitold and Madeleine Kilian, he was born in 1955 and grew up in Clinton, Mississippi. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Clinton, and later graduated from Mississippi College.
Mike spent his career doing what he loved- playing and teaching tennis.
He started his career at the Clinton Park Tennis Courts. He moved to Tennis South and then to The Courthouse. Mike then went to Parham Bridges Tennis Center where he and his business partner owned Overkill Tennis. Mike recently retired to pursue his second love- writing. He was in the process of writing a series of Christian science-fiction novels.
His sister, Jerri Myers; his brother-in-law, Bill Myers; and his sister-in-law, Linda Kilian, survive him. Also surviving Mike are his much-loved nieces, Krista Markham and Kate Newell, and nephew, Scott Myers and his great nieces and nephews: Jordan Markham, Anna Catherine Markham, Joshua Markham, Emma Grace Markham, Connor Myers, Hannah Newell, Abby Newell and Jordan Newell.
The funeral service will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kaye Byrd officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. preceding the funeral.
