Mary Sherman Roberts, 87, of Clinton went home to be with her Lord October 29. 2024. Visitation will be Saturday November 2, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:00 am with the service following at 11:00. Both the visitation and the service will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Blvd.
She attended Clinton Public Schools for 12 years and graduated in 1955. She was raised in Beulah Memorial Baptist Church (Brownsville) and was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church for the last 20 years. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, Pilot Club of Clinton, and the Eastern Star Clinton Chapter where she served in several chairs including Worthy Matron. She helped support her family for many years by working as a bookkeeper for Reliance Universal and Hudspeth Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands George Kirby Sherman and Vergo Roberts, as well as her grandson-in-law Jonathan Purvis of Pisgah. She is survived by her sons Rocky (Annette), Ricky (Jerolyn), and Randy (Anne). Six grandchildren Brad (Rachel) Sherman, Tiffany (William) Wienke, Lori (Jonathan) Purvis, Audrey (Jared) Wright, Scott (Anna) Sherman, and Kirby (Emily) Sherman. She also had five great grandchildren Brennan Sherman, Lane Wright, Josie Wright, Riley Sherman, and Rhodes Sherman. Mary’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy and delight.
