Margaret came into this world not even a half mile from where she left it. Born on July 9th, 1932, her mother gave birth at home under the kitchen table to Margaret and her twin brother Mac. Born natural fighters who defied many odds, both infants were small enough to fill inside the palm of their father's hands. Margaret would spend most of her early life in Tinsley until marrying the love of her life Jack Glascoe and moving away to Jackson. Many know Margaret from her days working at School Pictures of MS, but the majority of the tri-county region, if not the state, knew Margaret and Jack for their family business, Glascoe's Corner, a convenience store/hot plate lunch service located off County Line Road in Jackson. She is likely to have fried more chicken than a famous colonel we all know.
Margaret loved to travel when she was not working, which she always was doing in one form or another. She was notorious for needing just a 15-30 min "cat nap" to break up her 8-12 hour days managing the family business and household. Jack and Margaret loved traveling the country in their RV.
She adored her family and friends and spending as much time with them as possible, whether around a kitchen table or sitting on the porch in a rocking chair. She was a God fearing and faithful woman until the day she died and devout member at Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison, Mississippi. We, the family, know that the end of her life was not one of fear, but of comfort.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Donis Shields (Dennis), grandchildren Edwin (Melissa) Magee, Timothy (Misty) Magee, Daniel Shields, Dustin Shields, 9 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Glascoe, daughters Margaret and Susan Glascoe.
