Janis is survived by her sons Nathan Hamblin, and Sean Hamblin.
Janis was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years Robert Hamblin in 2019; sons Patrick Ian Hamblin in 1972, Paul Hamblin in 2023; and her parents John and Pearl Foster.
Janis was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness created a home filled with love, and her legacy lives on in the stories she shared and wisdom she imparted.
Janis committed her life to shaping young minds as a devoted librarian and teacher. Her passions for art, literature and learning inspired countless students.
Janis was a gifted artist. She brought beauty and creativity to the world through her artwork which reflected the depth of her imagination and the richness of her soul. Through her art she conveyed the beauty she saw in the world and touched the hearts of those around her. In addition to her paintings and drawings, she was an avid writer. And though she only shared her stories with a select few, that makes them all the more precious and cherished. Along with her other artistic endeavors, Janis also enjoyed expressing the love for her Celtic heritage through dance as a member of the Jackson Irish Dancers.
As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman, let us also celebrate the life she lived - a life marked by knowledge, artistic expression and love. Janis will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were touched by her grace. May she rest in peace surrounded by the love, stories and colors that defined her remarkable journey.
