Jack Denton Owens, 75, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital- Belhaven in Jackson. He was born in Natchez on June 27, 1948 to William Ernest Owens and Andrea Jacqueline "Jackie" Owens.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 12pm followed by the funeral service at 2pm at Lakewood Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park at the pavilion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Andy J. Owens; two brothers: William Ernest “Sonny” Roberts and John Edward “J.E.” Owens; and sister-in-law, Mable L. Roberts.
He is survived by daughter, Andrea Elizabeth Owens; sister-in-law, Liz Owens; nieces, Becky Dunn and Angi Jessyl; and great niece, Taylor Ingram.
Jack Denton graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1966. He continued his education at Holmes College of the Bible in Greenville, South Carolina. Upon graduation in 1985, he became an ordained minister. Later in life, Mr. Jack was honored to be a bus driver for Pearl Public School District. He was, also, a faithful choir member at First Baptist Church of Madison.
In lieu of flowers, the Owens family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
