A memorial service will be held Monday August 10th at Lakewood Memorial Parks and Funeral Home in Jackson, Mississippi.
He was born April 24, 1942, in Merigold, Mississippi to Dillard and Mary Louise Roberts. His father was a Carpenter and his mother was a devoted wife and mother, raising 7 children.
He graduated from Greenville High School in 1960. That same year he met and married, Faye, the love of his life and joined the Navy soon after. He served in the Navy as IFF Specialist. Faye and Howard describe their time in the Navy as some of their most adventurous. He attended Hinds Community College and enjoyed a successful career in the printing industry where he did what he loved most, making people smile by solving problems.
Howard was the best neighbor and friend you could ask for. Having retired at age 62 he set his sights on other pursuits. He was always helping fix or build something. And without exception the project was done perfectly because if Howard was involved there was no other way!
His interests included woodworking, gardening, traveling, genealogy and of course, his family.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife Faye Roberts; 2 sons and their spouses, Rick and Marjorie Roberts, Ken and Mandy Roberts; brothers, Art Roberts and Billy Roberts; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Roberts.
