H. Leo Russell, Sr., DDS, 83, of Brandon, MS passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon with funeral services to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Dr. Russell was born in Jackson on January 4, 1935. He played basketball at East Central Community College and Mississippi College and later earned his DDS at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Dr. Russell served his community as a dentist for 52 years where he owned Russell Dental Clinic in Forest and Community Dental Clinic in Jackson. He enjoyed volunteering with Smiles for Children and Mission First and was also an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Lester and Marjorie Russell and his son, Tim McAdory.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Russell; sons, Harold Leo Russell, Jr. (Beth) and Ron Russell (Christy); daughters, Angie King (Greg) and Karon Martin (Steve); and several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
