Bunny Harris was born March 22, 1926, in Natchez, MS. She died at the age of 94 on September 24, 2020. In Hospice Ministries. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and H.W. Patterson; brothers, Dick Patterson and William Andrew Patterson; sisters, Virginia Patterson and Bette House.
She is survived by two daughters, Mickey Turner of Brandon and Judy (Keith) Wallace of Florence; brother, Bill Patterson (Gerry); five grandchildren, Tiffany (Richard) Withers, Amy Steel, Matt Turner, Laura (Jimmy) Clark, Melissa (John) Banks; ten great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Caldwell, Whitney Steel, Tyler Steel, Payton Paige, Maddie Withers, Gage Turner, Belle, Avery, Calvin Clark, and Lilly Banks; two great-great-grandsons, Gunner Caldwell and Owen Smith.
She retired from the State Tax Commission as a Purchasing Agent in 1991. During her retirement she learned to play the dulcimer and was a member of the Hinds Community College Dulcimer Dandies; she was a tutor for children at Gary Road Elementary School; she taught Sunday School at Lakeshore Methodist Church and she loved working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers. She was very artistic and taught her grandchildren to draw and paint.
Services will be Sunday, September 27, 2020, at 3:00 pm at Lakeshore Methodist Church in Byram. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
