On Wednesday July 25, 2018 Frances Phillips Jackson, 82, was taken by the hand of God to reside eternally in heaven. Born March 10, 1936 in Jackson, MS , she was a life-long resident in the Jackson, MS area and most currently Florence, Ms.
Frances was known by many titles: Loving and devout Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, loyal friend, Mamaw, consummate volunteer, mender of your shirt or your heart, and ever ready with a bit of cash, cookies, or generous consoling. She had the perfect servants heart and she lived by this verse from the Bible, a book she knew well.
Ephesians 4:32 “ And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Her family and friends will remember her as an angel in our midst and not ready for her journey to end but satisfied with her destination.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy Cogan, her children, Beverly Bross (Mike) St. Louis, Mo; Blane Jackson, Florence, Ms; Bruce Jackson (Carolyn), Brentwood, TN; Beth Gordin (Clark), Ocean Springs, MS and Brigette Norris (Brent), Tulsa, OK; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and Flitter, her much loved dog.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo Phillips (Hermine) and Thelma Harmon (Earnest), and her husband of 64 years, James Prentiss Jackson.
In lieu of flowers please help someone in need, give your loved ones an extra hug, and spend some extra time with a child. She would like that.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM with funeral services to follow in the chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
