Evelyn “Lynn” Wilson, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at her home in Clinton. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, October 15 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the funeral service to follow. She will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Lynn was born on May 13, 1928 in Belleville, NJ to the late Joseph and Beatrice Russo Engel. She and her family proudly owned and operated Bresler’s Ice Cream at the Jackson Metro Center for many years. She was a devoted Christian and member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed walking, playing golf, was avid reader, and closely followed all major sports, especially tennis, golf and college football. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Wilson; parents; Robert and Carrie Wilson of Crossville, TN.
Lynn is survived by her children: Cathy (Arnold) Chavers of Little Rock Arkansas, Beth (Jim) Portwood of Clinton, Scott (Ellen) Wilson of Clinton, and Karen (Doug) Zimpfer of Houston, TX. She was a very proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Grandchildren are: Lee (Jaclyn) Chavers, Robert (Brittany) Chavers, Rebecca (Nathan) Yandell, Aubrey Richmond, Hannah (Josh) Delph, Rachel Wilson, Kristen, Corey and Grant Zimpfer. Great grandchildren are: Levi and Logan Chavers; Catherine and Isabel Delph.
The family would also like to express their deepest appreciation for her caregivers who provided the best of care, devotion and love during her illness. They were angels sent specifically for her.
