Eloise Ellis 93, of Clinton passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Riggs Manor Retirement Community in Raymond, Mississippi.

Eloise was born on February 6, 1931 in Vaiden, Mississippi to the late Rufus Eugene Cox and Ada Lee Brisendine Cox. In 1948, soon after graduating from Vaiden High School, Eloise married James Robert Ellis, a WWII veteran from Blackhawk, Mississippi. She was his faithful, loving wife and homemaker for 61+ years and the mother of their three children, Teresa Diane Ellis Jarnagin, Gloria Yvonne Ellis Richardson, and James Darrell Ellis.

Eloise is predeceased by her husband James and daughter Teresa; her parents; brothers James Cox of Brookhaven, Roscoe Cox of Winona, and Roy Cox of Texas; sisters Kathleen Caito of Ohio, and Agnes (Jenny) Wilmore of Texas.

She is survived by her daughter Yvonne of Pelahatchie and son James and his wife Keri of Athens, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Bethany Sanders of Clinton, Nate Jarnagin, Jr (Randi) of Clinton, Wesley Richardson of Pearl, Lindsey Richardson of Brandon, David Ellis (Jessica) of Florence, and Linda Autry (Dustin) of Hattiesburg; great grandchildren Scarlett Ellis of Florence, Brantley Cockrell of Florence, Rafe Ellis of Florence, Jordan Autry of Hattiesburg, and Mattie Autry of Hattiesburg; sister Ruth Rossi of Ohio.

A visitation for Eloise will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
