Jack Edwin Bennett, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson at the age of 60. Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2014, from 5:00-6:00 PM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel. To remember and honor Eddie’s life, his family requests that all friends wear jeans and casual attire.
Eddie graduated from Hinds Community College with a Master’s in air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing. He then started Bennett Services in 1997 to present. He is remembered by his family as a consummate perfectionist in life, laughter, love, family, friends, and business. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Grumpy”. He was a fun loving jokester and a true Mr. Fix It.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Bennett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marion King; sons, Bryce King and Marshall King; daughters, Amanda Bennett Clark and Sheryl Poole; grandchildren, Hunter Clark, McKenna Clark, Marshall Poole; dogs, Shadow, Puff, Demon, Layla, Gumbo, Cotton, Cricket, Ember, Rogue, Jenny; extended family, Charles and Lisa King, Christina Smith, Amanda Thomas, Jack King, great-nieces and great-nephews; one brother and one sister.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tibor Fulop and the kidney staff at UMMC for all of their support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Eddie Bennett to the Jackson Zoo for lions, tigers and bears, OH MY!
