Connie Fields Fitzgerald of Jackson, Mississippi passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Connie was born January 23, 1950 to the late Jack and Sadie Fields of Jackson, Mississippi.
Connie attended Provine High School, graduating class of 1968. She worked for Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company for 45 years and was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church, where she married her adoring husband David Fitzgerald of 55 years.
Connie spent her earthly days as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved traveling, camping, gardening, riding motorcycles with her husband, and spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her mother Sadie Mae Fields, her father Jack Douglas Fields, her sisters Brenda Fields Wall, and Jackie Fields Anderson.
She is survived in death by her husband of 55 years, David Allen Fitzgerald, her sisters, Denise Fields Morgan (Russ) and Lisa Fields Tyson (Billy), her daughters Darla Fitzgerald Barwick and Melanie Fitzgerald Moree (Donny), her grandchildren Raylee Nicole Miller (Joshua), DonAllen Moree, Shelby Lynn McElroy (DJ), and Hunter Joseph Moree, her great-grandchildren Brynlee Mae Miller, and Bryer Crews Miller, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers are DonAllen Moree, Hunter Moree, Tadd Fitzgerald, Daniel Fitzgerald, John Tyson, and Joseph Tyson.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations in her name be made to The Cancer Society or The Alzheimer's Association.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 12 pm to 2 pm with a funeral service to follow at Lakewood Funeral Home. Interment at Lakewood Memorial Park.
