Hal attended Jackson Preparatory School and graduated from Woodland Hills Baptist Academy. He then went to Mississippi State University before enrolling at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama. Hal was a proud member of the National Guard which brought him to travel to the Philippines and several other places. He later attended Hinds Community College and obtained a degree in Aircraft Maintenance.
Hal worked at Raymond Airport as an Aircraft and Plant Mechanic. One of his duties included assisting the U.S. Department of Agriculture with photographic mapping of the entire state of Mississippi. He later worked for Raytheon Aerospace Company and Tellus Operating Group.
Hal was a lifelong fan of Mississippi State football, enjoying the Egg Bowl especially, as the rest of his family are avid Ole Miss fans. Hal adored animals and found a great companion in his English Bulldog, Capone. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, listening to music and talk radio, vegetable gardening, and spending time with friends.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister, Angela Williams Lang (John). He is survived by sisters, Leslie Williams Hines (Todd) and Erin Williams Chevalier (Steven), Nieces Jilly Lang Escude (Mark), Preston Lang Miller (Monty), Vivian Lang Robinson (Grant), Vaughan Hines Coffin (Robert), Allison Hines Mangialardi (John Finley), Ava Chevalier and nephew Ethan Chevalier along with many great nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held on April 17th at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter or charity of your choosing.
