Charles H Davis

Mr. Charles Henry Davis, age 92, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at the G. V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Hospital in Jackson surrounded by his family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 25, 2015 in the chapel of Lakewood Funeral Home with visitation prior to the mass from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the mass at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Davis was born on October 29, 1922 in Hinds County, Mississippi. He was the son of Leland Palmer and Connie Green Davis. He served in the United States Navy as a Motor Machinist Mate Third Class from October 23, 1942 to September 28, 1945 when he was honorably discharged. On June 27, 1945 he married the most beautiful woman in the world, Sophie Ellis and they had five children. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Jackson, MS and loved to play golf.

Mr. Davis is survived by his two sons, Charles P. Davis (Deb) and Michael L. Davis; and his daughter, Terri Davis Coulson (Walter); his two sisters, Patty Pavlenko and Jean Disney; his eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sophie; his sons, Glenn and Leland Davis; his granddaughters, Theresa and Candace; his three brothers, Leland Lafroy, Woodward and Sonny; and his sister, Palmer Lee.
