Carol Phillips Whitfield

Carol was born on June 12, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Virginia and Johnny Phillips. She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Fred Phillips, of Greenwood, South Carolina.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years and 48 weeks Jim Whitfield; her children, Shea Whitfield (Susan) and Sandi Graves (Lance); and her cherished grandchildren, Elijah Whitfield, Thomas Whitfield, Blake Graves, and Brayden Graves. She is also survived by numerous nephews, a niece, and a multitude of extended family members and friends.

Carol's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her faith. Her compassionate nature and steadfast prayers touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love and devotion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Baptist Children's Village, honoring Carol's lifelong commitment to caring for others.

A visitation for Carol will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209 and Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Carol will be laid to rest in Clinton City Cemetery, 500 East College Street, Clinton, Mississippi.
