Bobby Lee Ainsworth, 93, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and funeral services to follow in the chapel, with Bro. Josh Horner, Officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Bob was born on October 15, 1925 to Lee and Dera Ainsworth in Conn, Mississippi. After graduation he served his country in the US Navy on the Submarine Tender in World War II South Pacific. Afterwards, Bob married the love of his life, Virginia Martin in 1957. Even though they never had any children of their own they had many nieces and nephews that loved them very much.
He retired from the Jackson Police Department as a Sargent and the Jackson Paper Company. Bob enjoyed many years participating in the Jackson Police Department motorcycle Corps as well as the Shriner Motor Corps. Bob thoroughly enjoyed serving in the Leavell Woods Lodge # 620, where he was a Master Mason and he was also a member of the Leavell Woods Eastern Star Chapter 342. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Bob was a member of the Raymond Road Baptist Church and enjoyed many friendships in his Men’s Sunday School Class.
Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Inkie) Martin Ainsworth; parents, Lee Jackson and Dera Anna Farmer Ainsworth; sisters Mary Lou (M.L.) Ainsworth McLellan and Eva A. Rabarino. Survived by loving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
