Billie Jo Young, age 86, of Canton, Mississippi passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. Billie was born December 29, 1935 in Hazlehurst, MS. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church.

A funeral service for Billie will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209 with visitation one hour prior. A committal service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South, 430 Mccluer Rd, Jackson, Mississippi 39212.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lola Mae Rutledge Brister and husband, James Young. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Shockley, Debora Rodgers, Connie McClanahan, Vicki Ware, Michelle Myers and Kim Watts; sisters, Frances Furlow and Jean Stegall; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
