Mrs. Betty P Saranthus

Betty Poole Saranthus, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Hospice Ministries. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Bethesda Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Saranthus was born on March 28, 1938 in Washington Co., AL. She worked as a furrier at McRae’s Department Store. She was a faithful member of Bethesda Baptist Church for over 32 years. She had a passion for sewing and loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Saranthus; daughter, Debra Saranthus Rushing; parents, Jack and Drula Carpenter Poole; son-in-law, Paul Farmer; brothers, David Poole and Troy Poole; brothers-in-law, Henry Tucker and Sam Mallette; and sister-in-law, Jan Poole.

Mrs. Saranthus is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Saranthus Farmer; granddaughter, Amber Pepper (Andy) and their children, Ashlynn, Adelynn and Brantley; grandson, Michael Rushing (Christina) and their children, Austin Clark (Alyssa Benton), Braden Clark, Miley Clark and Megan Rushing; her siblings, Juanita Loper, Faye Tucker, Gerald Poole (Linda), Sandra Mallette, Larry Poole (Terri), Terry Poole, and Randy Poole (Candi); sisters-in-law, Marion Poole and Judy Poole. She also leaves many extended family and friends to cherish her memory.
