Betty Jean Hughes

She lived most of her adult life in Jackson, MS where she was an employee of the Lamar Life Insurance Company for 45 years. At home, she enjoyed working in her yard with all of her beautiful flowers, preparing holiday meals for her entire family each year, and counting the days until she could retire.

She is predeceased by her mother, Alice Eagle, & her two brothers, Tom & Sherwood. She is also predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Ernest Hughes. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lissa (Mitch), stepdaughter, Virginia (Kenny), four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson, MS from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and held at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be made to any Parkinson’s disease Foundation of your choice.
