Betty Dukes Bullock, nee Dukes, passed away on September 8, 2022 after a brief illness. Betty was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on April 18, 1944. She was a long time resident of Clinton, Mississippi. Betty was the daughter of Wilbur C. Dukes and Mildred Dukes who lived in Jackson before establishing a residence in Ridgeland, Mississippi, both of whom predeceased her.
Betty was a career social worker, having earned a Masters’ Degree in Social Work at Louisiana State University. She provided these services while working at Family Services Association in Jackson and then to patients at the State Hospital at Whitfield
Betty is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Bullock, stepson Jonathan Lee Bullock his daughters Jordan and Dylan Bullock, and her brother, Jeff Albert Dukes.
Betty loved all animals, plants and people and derived great pleasure in making others comfortable. Betty could sometimes be described by family and close friends as endearingly eccentric.
Services are scheduled to be held a Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, visitation at 10:00 am followed by a chapel service at 11 am. Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Betty’s family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
