Annie Mae Brooks, 99, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM with the funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brooks was born on May 20, 1923 in Starkville, MS to the late Dennis and Eller Lack.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Walker and Bernice C. “Red” Brooks; parents; brothers, Denson and Delton Lack; sister, Doris Newell.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her sons, Henry Walker (Judy) of Vicksburg, MS, Ernest Walker (Janice) of Shady Grove, MS, Dennis Brooks (Brenda) of Gulfport, MS and Sammy Brooks (Rhonda) of Covington, LA; sisters, Pauline Ferguson of Terry, MS and Rachel Lanford of Mt. Herman, LA; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family would like to express a special thanks to her granddaughter, Kim Barnes and her husband Dr. Rusty Barnes for all of their loving care.
