Anne was born in Mt. Olive, MS on May 18, 1920 to Coates and Dan Nichols. She attended Central High School and was a graduate of Belhaven College. Anne married Robert Shillinglaw, a resident of Jackson. She worked as an executive secretary for Trustmark Bank in Downtown Jackson all of her employed life. She was a member of Central Presbyterian and later Covenant Presbyterian Church of Jackson. She was very active in her church along with several clubs and organizations, volunteering her time and knowledge, always with a smile.
She is survived by her nephew, James Nichols and his wife, Susan of Lafayette, LA, her great-nephew, William Owen Nichols, II and his wife, Tiffany, with their children, Christopher, Emily, Elise, Oliver, and Catherine, also of Lafayette, LA, a nephew, Dan Taylor and his wife, Sandi of Tomball, TX, and daughters, Carri Walters and Haley Mallette, with great-great nieces and nephew, Addison Walters, Kate Walters, Kylie Mallette, and Cole White. She is also survived by a special cousin, Martha McDaniel of Collins, MS.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Shillinglaw, her parents, Dan and Coates Nichols, a brother, William Owen Nichols, I, and his wife, Louise D. Nichols, and a niece, Billie Louise Nichols, all of Lafayette, LA. She was also predeceased by her aunts, Lura and May Steele, of Jackson, who were very special to Anne growing up.
Funeral services will be held at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson, MS on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation held from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
