Verna D. Davis

Of Jackson, passed away at the age of 66 on January 27, 2012. Verna was born September 8, 1945 to Eli and Juanita Mack. She was married to John Davis for over twenty-five years. She worked as a supervisor at Dorothy Dawson Foods for thirty-five years. She loved to cook, cared for others and had a big heart. She is survived by her sons, Baron Keith Davis, Shawn Christopher Davis and Michael Todd (Rochelle) Davis; eleven grandchildren, Rakeena Barnes, Joslin Barnes, Briana Barnes, Michael Davis, Jr., Nadia Davis, Anja Davis, Johnathan Davis, Brian Davis, Gabrielle Taylor, Alexa Davis and Quatarius Artis; siblings, Wanda Mack, Janet Miller, Mattie Wilson, Verda (Ray) Williams and Herbert (Barbara) Jenkins . Preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Juanita Mack, her husband, John and siblings, Tommy Mack and Eli Mack, Jr. Memorial service will take place Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Mt. Hope Community Church (575 Murphy Dr., Jackson) at 2 pm with Pastor Maryl Gibson officiating. Family hour 1 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davis family for final expenses.
