Teresa A. Hansel

Of Jackson, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, aged 78 years. Survived by her brothers, Bernard Cummings, Father Paul Cummings, Leo Cummings and Richard Cummings and two sisters, Rosemary Kite and Sr. Kathleen Cummings; her children, George and his wife Sara Davis, Lisa Kuchuk, Barbara Rumsey, William and his wife Patricia Davis, Jennifer Warner and her fiancé Terry Boyd, and Matthew Davis; and her grandson Brent and his wife Sally Hartwig and family; and her beloved eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose Mary and Matthew Cummings; her husband, Ralph Hansel; her former husband and father to her children William Davis; her brothers, Thomas Cummings, Frank Cummings, James Cummings and Matthew Cummings; her sister, Rita Frybarger and her son-in-law Greg Kuchuk. Teresa was a graduate of St. John’s High School class of 1953 and completed Nurse Training to become a Registered Nurse in 1955. She worked in surgery throughout her nursing career at Mercy Hospital, W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital and the Duane Waters Facility at the SMP. Teresa loved to spend time with her family, and she loved history, poetry and card, board and video games. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary and volunteered at St. John’s Parish, St Luke’s Clinic and the Michigan Theatre. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., with a Rosary at 7:30 P.M. and at the church Wednesday 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. In Lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. John’s Parish or Allegiance Hematology and Oncology or Hospice Departments.
