Scotty Michael Sprague-O'Dowd

Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2021, at the age of 31. Scotty was born in Ann Arbor on May 4, 1990, to parents Lisa O'Dowd and Todd Sprague. He was a soul that couldn't be tamed. He never let the rules of life slow him down. His heart was bigger than words could ever explain and always wanted to make you smile and laugh. When it came to the kids of his family and friends, he never shied away from an epic wrestling battle or some popcorn and a movie. His all-time favorite movie was Scarface and when he wasn't watching that, he was watching sports. He would even get competitive playing video games with family and friends and his love of music. Scotty's dog, Joker, had a special place in his heart. He is survived by his parents Lisa O'Dowd and Todd (Stacey) Sprague; grandparents Sheri (Bob) Balaze, Deborah Clark, Sharon Swaenepoel, Gary (Kim) Bird, and Bonnie Finehout; siblings Stephen (Bridget) Olszewski Jr, James Cummings, Devyn (Ted Breijak) Cummings, and Kaleb Cummings, uncles Chris (Sarah) O'Dowd, D.J. O'Dowd, and Kurt Gamet; aunt Melissa Sprague; nephews Deegan and Broly Olszewski, cousins Greg Sprague, Brittney (Nate) Rice, Jillian, Donovan, Samantha, Brayden, Shaelynn, and Trey; special friend Jessica, along with a plethora of other family members. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents Roy and Phyllis Sprague; grandfathers Dennis O'Dowd, James Clark, Tom Gamet, and Albert Swaenepoel; and best friend Jacob Moore. Cremation has been chosen with a celebration of Scotty’s life to be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home 1806 East Michigan Ave., Jackson, with visitation from 11:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interfaith Shelter or Charity of choice.
