Rose Mary Blackman

Of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the age of 80 while under the kind and compassionate care at the Allegiance Hospice Home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles R. Blackman; brother, Loren Swartz; and sister, Ellen Colburn. She is survived by her children: Linda Hoop, Michael Blackman, and Brenda Bail; six grandchildren: Carole, Nicholas (Nikki), and Marcia Gale, Eric Bail, Martin (Joanna), James (Marissa) Hoop; six great granddaughters: Breana, Audrey, Lydia, Ava Gale; Adalynn and Kylie Bail; siblings: Walter (Mildred) Swartz, Warren (Thelma) Swartz, and Ruth Tilden; sister-in-law, Geraldine Swartz; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Rose was born to Lloyd and Hazel (Smith) Swartz in Hanover, Michigan on July 5, 1935. She and Charles were married on August 30, 1953. She was a hardworking and extremely loving mother and grandmother. She touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
