Ronald "Ron" Gene Gilbert

Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2024 at the age of 66. Ron was born on December 4, 1957 in Jackson, MI to Father Peter Gilbert and Mother Betty Gilmore. Ron married the love of his life Cherry Gilbert on June 2, 1979, and they were married for 45 years. Ron was a Senior Field Service Engineer at Synventive Molding Solutions for 29 years, earning various honorable plaques. He enjoyed buying and racing matchbox cars, was a collector of Ford Mustangs, and loved to watch Street Outlaws and football. Ron is survived by his Wife Cherry Gilbert, Children Heather Gilbert and Stephanie (Tobin) Gilbert; Grandchildren Haylee Gilbert, Maddison Gilbert, Audrey Gilbert, Alex Gilbert, and Abigail Miller; Great Grandchildren Za'Kai and A'Mias Gilbert; Father Peter (Helen) Gilbert, Mother Betty Gilmore; Siblings Pete Gilbert, Jr., Ed Gilbert, James (Tracey) Gilbert, Harold (Sam) Gilbert, Chris (Jeff) Rutan, Diana (Scott) McLear, Lisa (Brett) Fockler, and Midge (Mike) Fagan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Brothers Richard "Lemon" Wallace and John Gilbert and Grandparents Hamilton (Henrietta) Gilbert and Arthur (Mary) Counts. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Burden and Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, (1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI) with Victor Silva and Michael, Chad and Robert Samulak officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gilbert family.
