Of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the age of 85 after battling Alzheimer's and Dementia the last few years. Ron was born on September 17, 1939 in Jackson, Michigan to parents Merle and Maurine (Kennell) Coryell. Ron was an All-State swimmer for Jackson High School class of 1957. He entered into the US Navy after graduation, serving aboard the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier. Ron went to may ports while in the Navy, including Spain, Italy, and Greece, with his home port being Jacksonville, Florida. After leaving the Navy, Ron worked at several shops in Jackson, retiring from General Products on October 1, 1999 where he had been a production worker and supervisor. Since he couldn't sit around while Grace was still working, he took on truck delivery for Great Lakes International, American Tooling in Grass Lake, and Huff Auto Sales before finally giving it all up to be a man of leisure. He loved to fish, hunt, go to casinos, and flea markets. He also loved blueberry pie, pot roast, noodles of any kind, going to the annual Saratoga Reunion Associations, and country music. Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years Grace Coryell; children Rebecca (Michael) Kraus of Concord, Michigan, Rhonda Coryell of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Jeanna (Chester) Johnson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; stepchildren Candy Calvert (fiance Chad Stephenson) of Rives Junction, Michigan and Rob (Susan) Gilbert of Brooklyn, Michigan; grandchildren Trisha Rupert, Jerry Pomeroy, Justin Coryell, Ronnie Coryell, Kayla Coryell, Anthony Coryell, Kaleb and Khloe Kraus, Kristopher and Kraig Lindsey, Luke Calvert, and Travis and Colby Gilbert; and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Merle and Maurine Coryell, sister Rosalie Nease, son James D. Coryell, and in-laws Chilton and Lillian Williams. The family would like to give special a thank you to Elara Hospice and the Visiting Angels through the Veterans Association, and our angel Sarah Harmon, our many Saratoga friends and family Lisa Coryell, Dawn Pelton, Dave and Caren Rogers, Lynn Morris (Glen Spencer), and Beverly (Coryell) King Snuggs.
