Rita R. Hoyt

Rita Rene Hoyt was born on November 17, 1948 and went to meet the Lord on August 17, 2013. Rita is survived by husband Mark and daughter Melissa Hoyt. In addition brothers Dorin Renner (wife Mary), Richard Renner (wife Barb) and Rod Renner (wife Sue). Also, sister Laura Eley (husband Gary). Rita was preceded in death by parents Bryce and Ruth Renner. Also by sisters Ruth Theisen (Elmer), Mary Ann Gregg (Junior), Jo Earley (Pete) and by brothers Harold (Barb) and Tony (Donna). Rita grew up on the family farm in Hanover and attended Hanover Horton High School. She went on to get her BA degree at Spring Arbor College. Mark and Rita were married on August 10, 1968. Melissa joined the family on May 6, 1979. Rita worked as an RN in Mental Health, at Foote Hospital, for many years.

Rita was an all time student, enjoying her time at Hanover Horton High School, Jackson Community College, and Spring Arbor College. Rita had many passions precious kitties, reading countless books and every magazine you could imagine, watching the wildlife right outside her door step, having coffee and long chats with friends, and warming hearts with her words through countless letters. Rita loved to sit in the stands at her husband’s basketball games, supporting Mark’s Mounties, as well as assisting the officials too. Her one true love in life was her daughter. Raising and providing her with the best care, cheering her on at ALL her sporting events, and evolving their sacred Mother/Daughter bond into a cherished friendship.

Rita’s presence in the world will be everlasting. Her generosity, inspiration, strength, and glow of her beautiful heart will shine and flourish for years to come. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Rita’s burial has already taken place at Draper Cemetery. Mark and Melissa will receive friends and family at Bethel Baptist Church, (1691 Springport Road in Jackson) on Sunday August 25, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm.

Donations in Rita’s name can be made to the Food Pantry of the First Nazarene Church in Jackson.
