Passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the age of 62 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on December 5, 1962 in Xenia, OH. He is survived by his son, Richard Theodore Singleton ll; grandson, Knowledge Singleton; father, Steven Singleton; sister, Janice Allender (Singleton); nieces, Myisha Uni (Thomas) Cunningham, Bobbie Allender-Brown; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. In addition to his mother, Mary Singleton, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark and many loving family members. Richard was a quirky eccentric man. He didn’t have many hobbies but in his youth, he loved to go bowling, play billiards, swim, and play tennis. His work life was also electric, ranging from property management, security, and investments. The one thing Richard understood in life was how to make money. From a very young age, he had an entrepreneurial spirit. He sold snacks to kids at school and saved his money. He used that money to create larger investment opportunities with higher financial reward. He did this his entire life.
A service to honor Richard’s life will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49202) Friday, August 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Officiated by Rev. Myisha Uni Cunningham. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
