Of Jackson, Michigan passed away at his home in Onondaga at the age of 78 on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra and their three children, Michelle, Michael and Melissa; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hailie, Ryan and Wyatt; three sisters, Robin, Janet and Jan as well as loving family members and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his siblings. Richard was born in Jackson, MI on February 22, 1944 and was one of eleven children born to Irene Burdick. Richard is a 1962 graduate of Western High School and loved all sports. He found a passion for drag racing at Onondaga Raceway with his 62 corvette. He was drafted into the United States Army, worked at Clark Equipment. He also trained and raced Harness horses. Richard had a larger than life personality and he always loved talking to new people wherever he went. He loved telling jokes and spending time with family and friends. He liked to play cards and gamble at the casino. Everyone always knew he was a winner when he would perform his victory dance, that he liked to refer to as his “Blake Shelton Dance Moves”. Richard touched the lives and hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen and there will be no services at this time.
