Of Okemos, MI passed away January 29, 2021 at the age of 55. Pat was born in Jackson, MI on August 3, 1965. He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Lor Gardner Novak; his parents, Zoran and Linda Novak; sister, Renee (Fernando) Arze and nephew, Emilio; sister, Lin Novak and nephews, Devin and Cole, niece, Caia; brother, Zoran (Robin) Novak and nephews, Ryan and Nolen; Monica’s parents, Richard and Arlene Gardner; Monica’s brother, Kurt (Karin) Gardner and nephew, Adam, niece, Anna; his cat, Jasmine; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by their beloved dog, Sawyer, in December 2020 and many other fur babies. Pat was proud to have worked for the family business, Novak Engineering, Inc. for 20+ years after it was formed by his parents in 1987. He most recently worked for Consumers Energy as a technical analyst in the Gas Asset Management Department. While attending Western Michigan University, he met Monica and the two were married in 1995. Pat loved his family and truly loved life. He had a larger than life personality, was an eternal optimist, and a jokester at all times. He was respected by many throughout the gaming world who knew him as “Flyingtroll.” During Pat’s childhood, the family moved to Cochabamba, Bolivia for his Dad’s work, which sparked his love of new adventures. Pat and Monica loved to travel all over the United States and recently visited Europe, where they enjoyed a tour of many countries. Due to the pandemic, and out of love for our friends and family, Pat’s memorial service will be limited to immediate family, with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
