Mitchell was a fighter right from the beginning as he was born with disabilities due to lack of oxygen to the brain during birth. His blue eyes lit up a room and his smile was contagious to all who met him. Mitchell’s journey began at a young age of 6 months being diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. He spent many days at University of Michigan Mott’s Hospital (which led his family’s love of U of M - Go Blue). Mitchell went to Lyle A. Torrant Center for his schooling until the age of 26 when he graduated. The love and support he received during those years from the Torrant Tiger Family brings pleasant memories of his younger years.
Once Mitchell graduated his parents, Morris and Marilyn Tuttle, took care of him in their home until Mitchell was 37 years old. They devoted their lives to his care! Mitchell then went to live in an Adult Foster Care home where he became part of their family. His family is appreciative of the wonderful care they provided to Mitchell.
He is survived by his mom, Marilyn (Nash) Tuttle; brother Matthew (Victoria) Tuttle, sister Monica (Corey) Shelton, nephews Jacob (Amanda) Tuttle, Jordan Tuttle, Logan Shelton, and Rory Shelton; great-nephews Ashton, Noah, Maddox and Levi and great-niece Isabella.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Morris Tuttle; niece Ashley Tuttle; as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Mitchell loved music (he always had a musical toy in his hands). He loved to look outside at the animals, birds and airplanes. His absolute favorite thing to do was eat (this boy sure loved his food).
The family of Mitchell would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Lyle A. Torrant Center for their years of service, to the staff of University of Michigan and their medical care during all his years, to his church family at Pathways Community Church, and to the incredible staff at the Balmars Home.
