Of Rives Junction, MI passed away on February 27, 2019 at the age 83, at home with her loving family at her side. Maureen was born on June 1, 1935 to James and Thelma Wood in Jackson, MI. She worked at Flora List schools for 9 years and retired from Walden books after 23 years. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Maureen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gordon “Mickey”; children, Brian (Anna), Michael (Ruth), Ron (Brenda), Lynette (Dave) Phillips and daughters-in-law, Holly Locke and Becky Case. She has 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Wood and Thelma Aldrich and brothers, Daryl and Freeman Wood. The Case family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Hirth and her staff at HFAH Oncology department and the loving care that Great Lakes Caring Hospice gave to Maureen during her illness. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
