Of Jackson, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born in Tunica, Mississippi on June 9, 1944. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Velma Kinnel; parents, Dora Mae Kinnel and Lexus “Boss” Tyler; sisters, Cora Ann Page and Bertha Lee Hamp and many more loved ones. He is survived by his children, Latasha R. Kinnel, Gregory L. McCoy, Sammy L Pearson, Danny L. Pearson, Laurie A. White, William A. White; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; aunts, Leeola Miller, Ora Mae Kinnel, Maxine Locke and Leevarry Chambers as well as many nieces, nephews and loving family members and friends. Marvin spent his career working in local manufacturing shops, Harvard Industries, Allied Chucker, J.T. Welding, Miller Warehouse, and Consumers Energy. He loved cutting grass in Jackson and was known as the “Lawnmower Man” He spent most of his free time on the grill and made the best BBQ in town. Marvin was a loyal, sweet, thoughtful and caring husband, Dad, uncle, nephew, cousin and grandfather. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his Life will be held at Martin Luther King Center (1107 Adrian Street, Jackson, 49203) on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.
