Of Jackson, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Linda Stein as well as his mother, Florence Smith; son, Kirk (Maggie) Stein; three step children, Joe (Mandy) Maitland, Jamie (William) Newman and Jeremy (Robyn) Maitland; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen, Madison, Justin, Blake, Elijah and Silas. He was preceded in death by his father, John Stein. He was born in Chicago on February 17, 1945. After graduating from high school he proudly served in the Navy during Vietnam as a Corpsman, where he earned the nickname “Doc”. He retired from the City of Jackson after seventeen years of service. Louis was a proud family man; he enjoyed fishing, playing on the computer and spending time with the grandchildren. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen and a service honoring him will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son funeral home on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service, followed by military honors.
