Of Brooklyn, MI passed away peacefully November 16, 2024 at the age of 94 in the care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home of Jackson. Lorraine was born September 17, 1930 in Jackson, MI to Frank Morten and Thelma (Peggie) Thompson. She married her first husband Jim Plummer on June 10, 1950, and they were married for 27 years. She then married Paul Stone on July 23, 1981 and was married to him for 16 years. Lorraine is survived by her son David (Vicki) Plummer and daughters Diane (Bruce) Inosencio, Bev (Kevin) Prater, and Linda (Greg) Denton; stepdaughters Patricia (Doug) Cross and Margaret Wagner; and eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband Jim Plummer (1977) and second husband Paul Stone (1997), mother Peggie Spooner, father Frank Morten, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Red Kvarford. Lorraine was known for her love of nature. She could be found at roadside parks, state land trails, and local nature centers. You may find one of her painted rocks along the many trails she explored. Her favorite rock phrase was “Go 2 DWUDZ”! She loved fishing, hunting for mushrooms and nuts, and picking berries until her fingers turned blue. She attracted many birds to feed and loved watching them. She was a master gardener, spending hours to produce enough to can or freeze. She made jams and jellies to share with family and friends. Lorraine also loved music and was a self-taught organist. She loved entertaining friends and family any time she could. Per her wishes, cremation has been chosen, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lorraine’s name to The Dahlem Center (7117 South Jackson Road, Jackson, MI 49201).
